MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV

JSW MG Motor India has unveiled the Hector Tomahawk PHEV in the country with an introductory price tag of approximately Rs 25.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The seven-seater plug-in hybrid sports utility vehicle has been unveiled along with the all-electric Hector Tomahawk EV and brings both petrol and electric engine power to the seven-seater SUV space..

Price and Variants of MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV

MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV is available in two variants:

Exclusive 7S: Rs 25.70 lakh

Essence 7S: Rs 27.80 lakh

MG has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) variant, whereby the cost of buying the car comes down to Rs 21.79 lakh, while the battery can be rented for Rs 3.20 per kilometer.

1,100km+ Claimed Range

One of the key features of the new Hector Tomahawk PHEV that stands out is its range. The SUV uses a petrol engine together with a 20.5kWh battery and an electric motor, thereby enabling MG to claim a total range exceeding 1,100km when the fuel tank and battery are fully filled.

The SUV is also capable of covering up to 115km in a completely electric mode of operation. 

Petrol-Electric Powertrain

The Hector Tomahawk PHEV is powered by a 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol engine which works together with an electric motor and separate hybrid gearbox.

The petrol engine generates a power output of around 102hp and torque of 125Nm whereas the electric motor generates a power output of 201hp and 237Nm. There are four different modes for the powertrain: EV, Series Hybrid, Parallel Hybrid, and Engine Direct Drive.

The vehicle has two charging options, one AC charging at 3.3kW and other DC charging at 25kW, where the battery charges from 30% to 80% in 35 minutes.

Feature-Rich Seven-Seater SUV

The vehicle comes with a modern layout, which is focused on technology, with features like a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 8.8-inch digital driver’s display system. Other features offered include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, 10-speaker Infinity audio system, connected car technology, etc.

Some other features include panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered front seats, ambient lighting and more.

Safety Features

The MG has fitted a complete safety system in the Tomahawk PHEV. These features include six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Bookings and Deliveries

Bookings for the MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV are open now, whereas the deliveries would start in November 2026.
